Detailed Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you’ll be greeted by a Sherpa Expedition & Trekking representative and transferred to your hotel. After checking in, you’ll receive a detailed briefing about your trek and the itinerary. Spend the day exploring the bustling Thamel district or visiting sights in Kathmandu Valley. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with your group. Meals are not included today, so you have the flexibility to explore local dining options. Rest up for the adventure ahead. Overnight at the hotel.

Start early for a scenic 6.5-hour drive covering 190 kilometers to Besisahar Village. From there, take a jeep to Syange, where you’ll get your first views of Mt. Annapurna II, Manaslu, and Mt. Lamjung. The journey provides stunning landscapes and initial glimpses of the majestic mountains. Arrive at Syange and check into a guesthouse for the night. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included. Enjoy your first night in the Himalayas, soaking in the natural beauty of the region.

Begin your trek with a scenic route above a gorge, offering views of lush vegetation and waterfalls. After a drive to Jagat Village, continue on foot through terraced farmland and small villages. Pass Chamje and Tal Village, following the Marsyangdi River. The trek takes you to Dharapani Village, where you will stay overnight in a guesthouse. Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Enjoy the serene environment and prepare for the days ahead on this adventurous trek.

Ascend through forested areas, noticing changes in vegetation and landscape. Visit the Tibetan-style village of Bagarchhap and continue to Dhanaqi Village, where you’ll enjoy views of Lamjung and Annapurna II. Trek along the Marsyangdi River, passing Ratamanang and Koto villages, before reaching Chame, the district headquarters. Overnight in a guesthouse with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Chame offers a blend of natural beauty and cultural insights, providing a comfortable stop on your journey.

Follow the northern bank of the Marsyangdi River, passing through pine forests and small villages. Cross a bridge and ascend through dense forest to a ridge with panoramic views of Pisang and Chulu peaks. Continue to Pisang Village, where you will stay in a guesthouse for the night. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Pisang offers stunning mountain views and a chance to experience local village life, making it a memorable stop on your trek.

Trek from Pisang with increasingly spectacular views of Gangapurna, Annapurna II, and Chulu peaks. After reaching a hilltop with panoramic vistas, descend to Kongde Village and then Manang. Explore Braga Monastery, the largest in the area, known for its religious artifacts. Manang features unique architecture and impressive mountain views. Overnight in a guesthouse with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This day allows for acclimatization and exploration, essential for the higher altitudes to come.

Spend a day in Manang to acclimatize to the higher altitude. Explore the village, known for its stone flat-roofed houses and breathtaking views of Annapurna II, III, Gangapurna, and Tilicho. Consider a short trek to nearby hills for further acclimatization. This rest day is crucial for adjusting to the altitude and preparing for the upcoming trek. Overnight in a guesthouse with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included, ensuring you are well-rested for the next phase of your journey.

Ascend from Manang to the arid and less vegetated terrain of Yak Kharka. Enjoy continued views of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, and Chulu peaks as the landscape becomes more rugged. Yak Kharka is a small village, and arriving early allows time to explore the surrounding countryside. Overnight at a guesthouse with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The trek provides a gradual transition to higher altitudes, offering stunning scenery and a chance to acclimatize further.

Trek steadily to Thorong Phedi, a small settlement where the terrain becomes increasingly exposed. Enjoy views of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, and Chulu peaks along the way. Optionally, ascend to Upper Phedi or High Camp to ease the trek the next day. Overnight in a guesthouse with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. This stage prepares you for the challenging Thorong La Pass crossing, ensuring you are well-acclimatized and rested.

Begin with a jeep ride to Jomsom, then transfer to Ghasa Village and finally to Tatopani. At Tatopani, enjoy the natural hot springs to relax and rejuvenate. The drive provides a scenic journey through various villages and landscapes. Overnight at a guesthouse with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Tatopani’s hot springs are the perfect way to unwind after the demanding trek across Thorong La Pass.

Trek from Tatopani to Ghorepani, descending to a suspension bridge before ascending through terraced farms and rhododendron forests. Enjoy views of Nilgiri South, Dhaulagiri, and Tukuche peaks along the way. Reach Ghorepani, a small village offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Overnight in a guesthouse with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The trek through diverse landscapes offers a pleasant contrast to the previous high-altitude sections.

Wake early to hike to Poon Hill for sunrise views of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, and the Annapurna ranges. Return to Ghorepani for breakfast, then trek downhill through forested paths and villages to Nayapul. From Nayapul, drive to Pokhara, a picturesque lakeside city. Enjoy exploring Pokhara or relaxing by Phewa Lake. Overnight in a three-star hotel with breakfast and lunch. Celebrate the completion of your trek with a farewell dinner.

Travel back to Kathmandu with a scenic 6-7 hour drive. Consider optional activities like visiting Chitwan National Park, rafting, or a scenic Everest flight. Alternatively, explore Kathmandu’s markets and sights. Enjoy a final evening in the capital city. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast. This day provides a chance to unwind and reflect on your trek while enjoying the vibrant city life.

After breakfast, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure. Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will ensure you arrive at the airport three hours before your flight. Reflect on your Himalayan adventure as you prepare for your journey home. Breakfast is included today. Safe travels and we hope you cherish the memories of your Annapurna Circuit trek.

Travel Information

Destination Location

Lake Manyara National Park covers 330 sq km (127 sq mi), 70% of which is a lake. Along with its western boundaries is the Rift Valley’s western wall. The park is famous for its birdlife – almost 400 different species – and for its elephant population and tree-climbing lions, who have a large variety of tree species to choose from. The short game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience.

One of nature’s true wonders and a photographer’s paradise, Ngorongoro is the largest intact crater in the world, covering 265 square kilometers (102 sq mi). The 2,000-foot deep crater is home to an abundance of wild game including elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, lions, leopards, hyenas, serval cats, jackals, pushbacks, elands, waterbucks, wildebeest, many antelope, and a large variety of birds. This is a sight that you will always remember!

Tarangire National Park covers 6,734 sq km (2,600 sq mi) and includes two large plains and a seasonal swamp in the south. This is a beautiful park filled with Baobabs and Acacias with a large variety of game such as zebras, elephants, giraffes, and waterbuck. All the animals enjoy the water coming from the Tarangire River. The animals are best viewed during the dry season, including elephant herds, elands, oryx, lesser kudo, rhino, leopards, lions, and cheetah. The birdlife is varied and plentiful. You can also see the very rare Roam Antelope in this park.
