Day 1: Arrival – Nairobi

Karibu Kenya! Welcome to your Kenyan safari adventure which begins in the capital, Nairobi, where you will be met at the airport by African Adventure Specialists Representative and transferred to your hotel accommodation where you are booked for your overnight stay. The hotel is in the midst of beautifully landscaped gardens a few minutes away from the Nairobi’s Central Business District and 20 minutes away from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Sarova Panafric is a 4-star luxury hotel. They have a friendly service & delightful cuisine.

Optional dinner at the hotel or at a local restaurant at an extra fee.

Day 2: Nairobi – Aberdare National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel after breakfast at 0800hrs and depart proceeding to the Aberdare National Park which is approximately 3hrs. The drive is scenic via the central Kenya highlands with stops to view tea and coffee plantations. You will arrive at your  base hotel  Aberdare country club at noon where you will have your  lunch. After lunch you will be transferred  and check in to the Tree hotel. The tree hotels provide spectacular viewing perches for afternoon and night game viewing from the balconies of your tree lodge.

Game is attracted by the waterholes and salt licks around the lodges. The Aberdare national park is home to elephants, black Rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs, and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat, and the blue duiker. Dinner and overnight at The Ark Lodge.

Day 3: Aberdare – Lake Nakuru National Park

Early morning after breakfast at the base hotel 0730hrs where you will meet your driver guide. We leave and head for Lake Nakuru national park. The drive via farming country and local homesteads via the Great Rift Valley escarpment floor is scenically arriving in time into your lodge for check-in, lunch at 1300hrs and some rest. You will depart in the afternoon at 1500hrs  to 18:30hrs for game drives.

The Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the top tourist destinations in Africa, famed for the Flamingos, both lesser and greater, that used to flock to its shores to feed on the cyanobacteria that live in its alkaline waters. It is a very important breeding ground and stop over for many species of birds and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At some times of the year, there can be few flamingos forming a pink band around the edge of the Lake. The Park is home to one of the greatest concentrations of Black Rhino in the World and has a thriving population of White Rhino. It is also a sanctuary for the rare Rothschild Giraffe. With luck, you may spot a leopard, which is rather elusive. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara National Reserve

Depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve travelling through floor of the Great Rift Valley arriving in good time for lunch at your camp. Spend two nights here to explore, discover and experience the magic and 7th wonder of the world – “Maasai Mara Game Reserve’’ a spectacular watch of the immense “Big-Five” Lion, Rhino, Buffaloes, Cheater and Elephant and wildebeest migration from Serengeti-park Tanzania into Maasai Mara-Kenya. The trees in the distance turn out to be giraffe’s family.

The clump of bushes is a pride of lions. And the rock that moves may be a rhino lumbering out of your way. Proceed to the Mara River where you’ll enjoy a sumptuous picnic lunch at the river. Visit Maasai tribesmen in their villages for an up-close cultural tour at an extra cost. In any event, the sheer mass and spectacle of the animals surrounding you will provide endless opportunities to fill many an album of treasured memories. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 5: Explore Masai Mara National Park

Optional Early Morning balloon safari ride (US$450.00 per person) across the Maasai Mara plain. Breakfast at the camp then enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. Masai Mara is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Game abounds here; The Mara is noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black maned males. See the great Migration where over 1.5 million wildebeest and other antelopes crossing the mighty Mara River. Experience the battle between survival and hunger.

You are also likely to see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as – if you’re lucky leopard, and rhino. All the Big Five are residents. You’re sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, stock up on film/tapes and enjoy yourselves. During the day, an optional visit to a local Maasai village (payable direct) to learn their culture as well as support their conservation efforts. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 6: Maasai Mara – Lake Naivasha

Early Morning sunrise game drive in Masai Mara returning to your camp for breakfast. After breakfast, we will drive to Naivasha. You will arrive to Naivasha in time for lunch. Lake Naivasha is the highest Lake of the Rift Valley located at an altitude of 1890 meters above sea level. This lake is a combination of volcanic rocks and sedimentary deposits. It has a length of 139 square kilometers. It is home to a population of more than 400 birds species and has a large population of Hippos.

Part of the Movie “Out of Africa” was filmed in this area. We will enjoy the magnificent facilities, gardens, swimming pool and outdoor areas of the Lodge, the beautiful views of the Lake as the lodge has fantastic views full of resident wildlife such as Giraffes, Zebras and Gazelles. In the afternoon, conduct an Optional boat ride that will enable you to see colonies of hippopotamuses, the fishing eagles in action, marabou stork, crocodiles, etc. Optional visit  on a guided crescent Island Tour which is situated at the middle of the Lake. Here you will be able to view wild animals that permanently live here like wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, giraffes, warthogs. We will disembark with a local guide and will continue trekking on foot through this Island that is located at the heart of the Lake, walking at our pace around this incredible place. This will give you a chance to see and photograph the animals that reside here. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

Day 7 Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast at the hotel, check-out, and drive to Amboseli which is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the landscape, and open plains. Upon arrival, check in, have lunch and a short rest. Afternoon game drive in the park at around 16:00hrs to 18:30hrs. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight Stay.

Day 8: Amboseli National Park

Day spent viewing game starting with a morning game drive and later in the afternoon an afternoon game drive at 16:00 hrs to 18:30hrs. In between game drives we relax by the pool side followed by lunch and final game drive.
Amboseli (392 sq. km) is not a big park but supported by swamp vegetation it harbours elephants, buffaloes, hippos, lions, hyenas, jackals, gazelles, wildebeests, warthogs, zebras, ostriches and Maasai giraffes in the background of the magnificent snow caped Mt. Kilimanjaro. The waters from melted snow find their way down the mountain under lava flows and surface on the Amboseli plains in form of swamps. Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge.

Day 9: Nairobi / Depart

After breakfast, check-out driving to Nairobi arriving mid-day. Upon arrival you will go for lunch at a local restaurant in Nairobi then go to your day room hotel. In respect of your flight timings, you shall be dropped off at the Jomo Kenyatta international Airport for your flight back home.
