OVERVIEW
This immersive 4-day Rwandan adventure begins with a city tour of Kigali, highlighting its transformation since the 1994 genocide. Explore key sites such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, the former presidential palace, and local markets. After lunch, journey to Volcanoes National Park, renowned for its stunning mountainous terrain and tropical climate.
Over the next two days, you will experience thrilling gorilla trekking. Start with a briefing at the park headquarters before encountering one of ten habituated gorilla families, enjoying a rare and intimate view of these endangered primates. Following your trek, relax at your lodge and delve into Rwandan culture with a visit to the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village. On the final day, revisit Kigali if time permits before transferring to the airport for departure. Accommodation options cater to all preferences, from luxury lodges to budget-friendly options.

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to the Kinigi Park offices for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Attendance is mandatory for all trackers, as it covers important details about the trek and safety guidelines. You will be assigned to one of 10 habituated gorilla families based on your fitness level. With only about 1,000 mountain gorillas left in the wild, the chance to see them in their natural habitat is rare and special.
During your one-hour encounter, you may witness playful youngsters and curious adults, making for an extraordinary experience. Follow the head guide’s instructions and remain calm. After your trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the evening, visit the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village to experience local dances and Rwandan storytelling.

You will wake up and follow the same program like that of day 2. However, this time you will be assigned a different gorilla family to enable you have a different experience. Try to hire a porter for gorilla trekking after the briefing to help you carry extra luggage or equipment. Porters are often students and former poachers.
By supporting them you help them raise money for their families and school fees. After completing the activity and observing the second gorilla group, our guide will take you for a tour of the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

After the two days of gorilla tracking, you need a long rest. Wake up and have breakfast at your own time but also prepare to check out and get ready for the journey back to Kigali. Our guide will take you up to the airport or to your hotel.
If you missed the tour of Kigali and the genocide memorial sites on the first day because of flight schedules or time constraints, this is the day you will go for the tour.

Travel Information
Destination Location
Lake Manyara National Park covers 330 sq km (127 sq mi), 70% of which is a lake. Along with its western boundaries is the Rift Valley’s western wall. The park is famous for its birdlife – almost 400 different species – and for its elephant population and tree-climbing lions, who have a large variety of tree species to choose from. The short game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience.
One of nature’s true wonders and a photographer’s paradise, Ngorongoro is the largest intact crater in the world, covering 265 square kilometers (102 sq mi). The 2,000-foot deep crater is home to an abundance of wild game including elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, lions, leopards, hyenas, serval cats, jackals, pushbacks, elands, waterbucks, wildebeest, many antelope, and a large variety of birds. This is a sight that you will always remember!
Tarangire National Park covers 6,734 sq km (2,600 sq mi) and includes two large plains and a seasonal swamp in the south. This is a beautiful park filled with Baobabs and Acacias with a large variety of game such as zebras, elephants, giraffes, and waterbuck. All the animals enjoy the water coming from the Tarangire River. The animals are best viewed during the dry season, including elephant herds, elands, oryx, lesser kudo, rhino, leopards, lions, and cheetah. The birdlife is varied and plentiful. You can also see the very rare Roam Antelope in this park.

Safari Tips for guide and cook:
$15/day for driver/guide and $10/day for cook (basic camping) for the whole safari group.

Transportation
With the exception of airfare, all Zara trips include all transportation costs and arrangements within the destination country. This does not include transfers to and from the aiport to the hotel or the equipment for all activities listed.

Cancellation of a booking or failure to join a tour will result in a retention of funds by ZaraTours Inc. as follows: Upon receipt of written cancellation by any member of the tour indicated on this reservation 30 days or longer prior to departure, 20% of the reservation of the canceling party will be retained by ZaraTours and the balance of the package price refunded. If a cancellation is received at least 14 days and up to 29 days prior to departure, 50% of the package price will be retained by ZaraTours Inc.
If a cancellation is received less than 14 days prior to departure, 100% of the total package price will be retained by ZaraTours Inc. and all outstanding payment will become payable immediately. Should the canceling party be able to find a replacement for themselves no less than 14 days prior to departure and the replacement completes this booking form individually, no retention of funds will take place.
However, should no replacement be found by 14 days prior to departure, a 100% cancellation penalty will apply to the canceling party. ZaraTours Inc. and its agents reserve the right to terminate, at their discretion and with immediate effect, the participation of any person on the tour.

- Visas can be obtained upon arrival at Dar es Salaam International Airport, Kilimanjaro International Airport, Zanzibar International Airport and the border posts of Namanga, Tunduma, Taveta and Holili.
- All Canadian Citizen who hold Canadian Passports are required to pay US$50.00 for the purpose of obtaining an ordinary VISA.
- All United States Passport holders are required to pay US$100.00 for the purpose of obtaining an ordinary VISA.
- All Passport holders with EU Citizenship are required to pay US$50.00 or €50.00 for the purpose of obtaining an ordinary VISA.

Cancellation Policy:
- Zara Tours Cancellation policy applies to the package offered, upon payment of deposit and confirmation of reservation.
Cancellation of booking or failure to join a tour will result in retention of funds by Zara Tours as described below:
