Day 1: Arrival Nairobi- Maasai Mara National Reserve
Your Kenyan safari adventure begins in Nairobi, where you will be met at the airport by African Adventure Specialists representative upon arrival at the airport. Leaving Nairobi, you’ll travel towards Kenya’s fertile highlands and head down the rift escarpment on a built by Italian prisoners of war during World war II.
Look for the charming chapel they built at the foot of the escarpment. You’ll pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the valley to Narok and the travel across acres of wheat and barley, before you reach the Maasai Mara and your camp in time for lunch. There will be an afternoon game drive before returning to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2-3-: Explore Maasai Mara National Reserve
Full day spent exploring the park in search of the big 5. Take full advantage of what the Mara has to offer. Choose from a wide range of activities including the optional hot air balloon safari that can be arranged at an extra cost, optional cultural visits to the local Maasai villages at an extra cost. The Maasai tribe is among the few tribes in Africa whose culture has lasted for years without changes and the locals are jointly living together and who partially contribute to the protection of wildlife and defined cultural tours as well.
Birding can also be done throughout the year with the reserve having a record of over 570 species of birds, with more than 50 bird species of prey which include: Eagles, vultures, storks and many others.
The Mara is one of the most famous ecosystems in the world and with reason, this huge expansion is home to an astonishing variety of wildlife, difficult to believe, over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You might be lucky to see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes, and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place.
In dramatic fashion, catch thousands of the great wildebeest, zebras, antelopes and elands, followed by gazelles as they cross over returning to their breeding grounds from Serengeti-Tanzania to Maasai Mara-Kenya between the months of July and October. Drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Maasai Mara National Reserve– Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, you will head to Lake Nakuru National Park which is regarded by avid birders’ as the greatest world ornithological spectacle on earth. Later in the afternoon you will leave for a game drive. The Park is famous for its millions of pink flamingoes lining on the shore.
It is the sanctuary to the Black Rhino and the Rothschild giraffe. Later in the evening drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park – Amboseli National park
After breakfast proceed to Amboseli arriving for lunch followed by game drive. During your evening game drive, you will be searching for the big herds of the African Elephants, the cheetahs, Lions, the gazelles and the Elusive Eland. Weather permitting you will be able to have a magnificent view of the Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 6: Explore Amboseli National Park
Day spent viewing game starting with a morning game drive. Weather permitting, the clouds will shear off, leaving you with a mesmerized by the majesty of Mt. Kilimanjaro and its gleaming snow-capped peaks offering a good photographic scenery coupled with animals on the ground .
Drive back to the hotel for lunch and in the afternoon you shall have a conference meeting. Amboseli is not a big park but supported by swamp vegetation. It harbors elephants, buffaloes, hippos, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, gazelles, wildebeests, warthogs. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Amboseli national Park – Diani
Wake up early for a pre-breakfast game drive to watch the park’s many wild inhabitants arise for the day returning to your lodge for Breakfast. After breakfast check out and then it’s time to leave the park. The train station at Emali is close-by. There your guide will assist you with tickets and transfer to the Madaraka Express, the new high-speed train to Mombasa and the coast. Your first-class ticket is included with the tour, so enjoy the comfort of your air-conditioned compartment as you travel through sections of Tsavo East.
The train route is positioned higher than the roadway and offers an elevated view. With its large windows you’ll enjoy wonderful vistas of the passing landscapes. There’s also a buffet car for drinks and snacks, and clean restrooms for your convenience. In a little less than two hours you’ll arrive at the state-of-the-art train station in Mombasa.
Transfer to your hotel or resort is also included – we’ll pick you up and bring you to your local hotel or resorts in Diani.
Day 8-10: Diani
Breakfast at the hotel and later spend the rest of the day at leisure enjoying the hotel facilities and unwinding at the beach. Spend the day relaxing on the beach or by the pool, exploring the local village, or taking part in one of the many activities offered which you can arrange directly with the hotel (e.g., snorkelling, scuba diving, spa treatments, swimming with dolphins, etc.).
Your stay at your premium accommodations includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you decide to eat outside the beach resort you will be responsible for any costs incurred.
Day 11: Departure
Today you will enjoy a morning at the Resort. In the afternoon you will be brought to the Mombasa for lunch at a local restaurant and afterwards drop off at the airport for a connecting flight to Nairobi then take your flight back home.
