Day 1: Arrival - Nairobi
Your Kenyan safari adventure begins in Nairobi, where you will be met at the airport by African Adventure Specialists representative, and after transfer to your hotel for overnight stay in preparation for your safari the next day. Golden Tulip Westlands Nairobi, is a premium 4 Star hotel located on 65 Muthithi Road. It is in close vicinity to the Sarit Centre, West Gate mall and National Museum of Kenya. The hotel is only 10-15 minutes from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, thanks to the expressway.
Optional dinner at a local restaurant or in the hotel at an extra fee.
Day 2: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast proceed to Amboseli. It is 4hr drive, arriving for lunch. The driver guide will help you in checking in at the Lodge. At around 16:00 hrs to 18:30 hrs you shall go for a game drive. During your evening game drive, you will be searching for the big herds of the African Elephants, Lions, the gazelles and the Elusive Eland. Weather permitting you will be able to have a magnificent view of the Kilimanjaro. Drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full Day at Amboseli National Park
We awaken to the sights and sounds of big game country and if we’re lucky to a view of the Kilimanjaro often unclouded in the early morning sky. In addition to elephant, antelope, zebra, wildebeest and the buffalo. Amboseli is sought after by travelers in the known for its breathe taking scenery and easily approachable wildlife. Just after daybreak, we venture into the crisp morning air in search of the great herds. Our game drives are sure to reveal great wonders. Magnificent views of snow-capped Kilimanjaro are dominant. The best time to see it, however, is early morning or just around sunset. This is Africa’s highest mountain- some call it “the rooftop of Africa”.
In the evening drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Amboseli National Park- Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, you will drive to Naivasha. You will arrive to Naivasha in time for lunch. Lake Naivasha is the highest Lake of the Rift Valley located at an altitude of 1890 meters above sea level. This lake is a combination of volcanic rocks and sedimentary deposits. It has a length of 139 square kilometers. It is home to a population of more than 400 birds species and has a large population of Hippos.
Part of the Movie “Out of Africa” was filmed in this area. We will enjoy the magnificent facilities, gardens, swimming pool and outdoor areas of the Lodge, the beautiful views of the Lake as the lodge has fantastic views full of resident wildlife such as Giraffes, Zebras and Gazelles. In the afternoon, conduct an Optional boat ride that will enable you to see colonies of hippopotamuses, the fishing eagles in action, marabou stork, etc. Optional visit on a guided crescent Island Tour which is situated at the middle of the Lake. Here you will be able to view wild animals that permanently live here like wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, giraffes, warthogs. We will disembark with a local guide and will continue trekking on foot through this Island that is located at the heart of the Lake, walking at our pace around this incredible place. This will give you a chance to see and photograph the animals that reside here. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha- Maasai Mara National Reserve
Depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve travelling through floor of the Great Rift Valley arriving in good time for lunch at your lodge. The driver guide will help you in checking in. In the afternoon at around 16;00hrs go for a game drive. Spend two nights here to explore, discover and experience the magic and 7th wonder of the world – “Maasai Mara Game Reserve’’ a spectacular watch of the immense “Big-Five” Lion, Rhino, Buffaloes, Leopard, elephant and wildebeest migration from Serengeti-park Tanzania into Maasai Mara-Kenya in the months of July, August, September and October.
The trees in the distance turn out to be giraffe’s family. The clump of bushes is a pride of lions. And the rock that moves may be a rhino lumbering out of your way. In any event, the sheer mass and spectacle of the animals surrounding you will provide endless opportunities to fill many an album of treasured memories. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Explore Maasai Mara National Park
Full day spent exploring the park in search of the big 5. Take full advantage of what the Mara has to offer. Choose from a wide range of activities including the optional hot air balloon safari that can be arranged at an extra cost, and cultural visit to the local Maasai villages at an extra cost. The Maasai tribe is among the few tribes in Africa whose culture has lasted for years without changes and the locals are jointly living together and who partially contribute to the protection of wildlife and defined cultural tours as well.
Birding can also be done throughout the year with the reserve having a record of over 570 species of birds, with more than 50 bird species of prey which include: Eagles, vultures, storks and many others.
The Mara is one of the most famous ecosystems in the world and with reason, this huge expansion is home to an astonishing variety of wildlife, difficult to believe, over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You might be lucky to see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes, and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place.
In dramatic fashion, catch thousands of the great wildebeest, zebras, antelopes and elands, followed by gazelles as they cross over returning to their breeding grounds from Serengeti-Tanzania to Maasai Mara-Kenya between the months of July and October. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Maasai Mara national reserve– Depart
After breakfast you’ll depart the Masai Mara, heading towards Nairobi. You will arrive in Nairobi in time for lunch. You shall go for lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant. In respect of your flight timings, you will be dropped off at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport for you flight back home.
