Kenya Safari 1 - 7 days - including Nairobi, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara

Day 1
Arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, meet and greet by a representative of Zara Tours and transfer to the Panafric Hotel or similar, booked on bed & breakfast. After a short rest transfer for a visit to Karen Blixen Museum, the historic home of the Danish author who was focus of the 1985 movie 'Out of Africa'. Lunch at the Karen Coffee Garden, transfer back to the Panafric Hotel.

Day 2
After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in good time for lunch at the Lion Hill Lodge. Afternoon game drive in the park and around this lake that is famous for its large concentration of pink flamingoes and other birdlife. You will have wonderful opportunities to take impressive pictures of myriads of pink bodies gliding above the reflection of blue water. The lake is also considered to be the first rhino sanctuary for the black and white species of rhinos. Other animals that are common in the area including reedbuck, bushbuck, warthog, leopard, baboon and giraffe. Dinner and overnight stay at the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.

Day 3
Pre – breakfast game drive and after breakfast depart for Lake Naivasha arriving in good time for lunch at the Naivasha Sopa Lodge. Lake Naivasha is an unusual lake, not having any known outlet which is normally a prerequisite for fresh water lakes. The lake edge has dense vegetation which in turn supports a thriving bird population including the grey-capped warbler, spectacled weaver, brimstone canary and red-billed firefinch - overall there are more than 350 species of birds in the area. Afternoon visit to Hells’ Gate located just beyond Lake Naivasha. It is a heaven for ornithologists and rock climbers alike; the cliffs of Hells’ Gate are breeding grounds for vultures, verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzard and thousands of swifts; 103 Species of bird have been recorded in the park. Special locations to view include Fischer’s Tower, formerly a volcano plug, the central tower and Njorowa Gorges. Natural steam vents rise from fissures in the volcanic rock. Dinner and overnight at the Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

Day 4
After breakfast depart to the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve driving through the spectacular Great Rift Valley via Narok Town, the major Maasai administration centre. Masai Mara is considered to be one of Kenya’s most precious wildlife sanctuaries; this big game reserve has one of Africa’s greatest concentration of wild animals. Plain game can be found here in staggering numbers, which in turns supports a tremendous predator population. We will arrive for lunch at the Mara Sarova Luxury Tented Camp. During your afternoon game drive you will have the opportunity to see wildebeest, herds of buffaloes, lions, impalas, giraffes, elephants, topi, warthogs, ostriches, cheetahs, hyenas, and many other forms of wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the Mara Sarova Luxury Tented Camp.

Day 5
Full day game viewing driving across the savannah of the Maasai Mara which is the northernmost extension of the great Serengeti ecosystem. Black Rhinos browse among dense thorn bushes and herds of giraffes. Elephant roam the woodlands. Large numbers of hippos gather and swim in the mara river. Boasting Kenya’s largest predator population, the reserve is renowned for its large prides. You may opt for a visit to the Maasai village or walking safari at an extra cost. All meals and overnight at the Mara Sarova Luxury Tented Camp.

Day 7
After breakfast depart for Nairobi. Drive through the spectacular Great Rift Valley via Narok Town arriving in Nairobi and check in at the Panafric Hotel. Lunch on this day is not included. Later, we proceed for dinner to the Carnivore Restaurant. Afterwards transfer to the airport for your outbound flight home.

Kenya Safari 2 - 9 days - including Nairobi, Shaba Game Reserve, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara


Day 1

After breakfast depart for Northern Kenya to Samburu where we will be passing through the equator arrving in good time for lunch at the Sarova Shaba Lodge. Samburu is a semi arid open savannah plain broken by a small rugged hills in Kenya’s Northern Province situated on the banks Ewaso Nyiro River with its crocodile and leopards. The nature in Samburu is renowned for a range of rare game, including the elusive leopard, lion, elephants, the long necked gerenuk, grevys zebra, reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx, and many others. Dinner and overnight stay at the Sarova Shaba Lodge.

Day 3
Game drives in the morning and afternoon, all meals and overnight at the Sarova Shaba Lodge

Day 4
After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in good time for lunch.
