| Maasai Safari Bicycle Race |
 This is a very special fundraising safari that we only offer for October 2010 related to the 1st "Make a change - Ngorongoro Bicycle Race 2010" which will take place between Arusha and Karatu/Ngorongoro. The aim is to raise funds for the ZARA Charity's "Maasai Women Educational training center". Please click here to read more about this project. The day of the race will probably be the 31st of October - this will be confirmed soon. Itinerary & Activities: DAY 1 - Karatu (28.10.2010) You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro airport in the evening and brought to Highview Hotel Karatu where you will have dinner. Overnight stay will be at Highview Hotel. DAY 2 - Ngorongoro Crate and Maasai encounter (29.10.2010) After breakfast you will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation area. After a game drive in the crater you will meet a local Massai community that will show you their village, school and cattle. Lunchbox in the crater. Hot dinner and overnight at Highview Hotel. DAY 3 - Day at leisure in the Karatu area (30.10.2010) You can relax at the Highview Hotel or do some optional excursions in the area (at extra cost), such as a walking safari into the Southern Ngorongoro Forest. An armed ranger will show you interesting plants, birds and other small animals. You will see the "elephant cave" and a small waterfall. Alternativelly, you can also visit the Iraqw tribe cultural centre or explore a coffee plantation. Breakfast, hot lunch and dinner are included at Highview Hotel where in the late evening there will also be an African entertainment night. Overnight at Highview Hotel. DAY 4 - Ngorongoro Bicycle Race (31.10.2010) After breakfast, you will be driven to the bicycle race and can participate as a bicycle racer. After the race, return to Highview Hotel where you will have lunch. At night, be a guest of the exclusive Ngorongoro Bicycle Race Gala Dinner with exciting activities at Highview Hotel. Overnight at Highview Hotel. DAY 5 - Lake Manyara National Park (1.11.2010) Breakfast and lunch at Highview Hotel. In the afternoon drive to and tour Lake Manyara National Park. Return to Highview Hotel and have barbecue dinner and overnight at the hotel. DAY 6 (2.11.2010) After breakfast, return to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight to Zanzibar or outbound flight.
