The following itineraries are our Individual Safari Itineraries for Southern Tanzania.
"Individual Safari" means that whether you are just 2 persons
travelling together or a small group, you will always have your own
driver-guide and you will not be grouped with other travellers. For Southern Tanzania we currently only offer individual safaris. It is possible to customise any of the itineraries given below, please contact us for a custom quote! These are our individual safaris in Southern Tanzania: 5 Days Selous - 6 Days Selous - 10 Days Selous, Mikumi, Ruaha, Isimila, Kitonga - 12 Days Selous, Mikumi, Ruaha, Udzungwa Mountains 5 Days Standard Camping Safari - Selous Day 1: Pickup up from Dar es Salaam International Airport and transfer to city center for overnight on bed&breakfast basis. Day 2: (Dar/Selous) –300 km 5-6 hours After breakfast depart from Dar es Salaam in 4x4 safari vehicle to Selous Game Reserve. Packed lunch on-route. Late afternoon game viewing. Dinner and overnight. Day 3: (Selous) The day is spend in the Selous Game Reserve. In the morning we will do a boat safari on the Rufiji River. You will see crocodiles, hippos and various birds in large roam across the river. In the afternoon game drive. Full board accommodation. Day 4: (Selous) After breakfast, enjoy another full day in the Selous. In the morning walking safari near Lake Tagalala (if the road is passable), game drive in the afternoon. Full board accommodation. Day 5: (Selous/ Dar) After breakfast, drive back to Dar-es-Salaam International Airport for your connecting or outbound flight. Rates:

Minimum group size for this safari is 2 persons. 10 Days Standard Camping Safari Southern Tanzania - Selous, Mikumi, Ruaha, Isimila, Kitonga Day 1: Pick up from Dar es Salaam airport and transfer to city centre. Accommodation on bed & breakfast basis. Day 2: (Dar/Selous = 300 km, 5/6 hours) After breakfast depart from Dar es Salaam in 4x4 safari vehicle to Selous Game Reserve. Packed lunch on-route. Late afternoon game viewing. Dinner and overnight. Day 3-4: (Selous) Two days are spent in the Selous Game Reserve with day game drives, one boat and one walking safari. Accommodation on full board basis. Day 5: (Selous/Mikumi = 400 km, 6/7 hours) After breakfast depart from the Selous and drive through the Uluguru Mountains to Morogoro for a late lunch at the Oasis Hotel. After lunch, we continue our drive to Mikumi for dinner and overnight. Day 6: (Mikumi National Park) The day is spent in Mikumi National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Full board accommodation at Mikumi. Day 7: (Mikumi/Ruaha = 352 km, 4/5 hours) After breakfast depart from Mikumi and drive to Ruaha National Park. Packed lunch on-route. Dinner and overnight at Ruaha. Day 8: (Ruaha) After breakfast, collect packed lunches and have a full day game viewing in the Ruaha Park, famous for its herds of elephants and Greater Kudus. Late evening drive back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. Day 9: (Ruaha/Isimila/Kitonga = 250 km, 3/4 hours) After breakfast depart to Isimila Stone Age Site to visit the spectacular pillars formed through ages by erosion. Lunch in Iringa Town. Afternoon drive to Kitonga Motel located at the base the Kitonga Mountain. Often, there is the chance to see traditional dances performed by the Wasagara and Wahehe tribes. Dinner and overnight at Kitonga Motel or similar hotel. Day 10: (Kitonga/Dar es Salaam = 435 km, 6/7 hours) After breakfast, depart from Kitonga and drive back to Dar with a stop for lunch in Morogoro. Late evening arrival in Dar es Salaam and drop off at your accommodation, on bed and breakfast basis. End of services. Rates:

Dinner and overnight at Tungamalenga Campsite. Day 10: (Ruaha/Udzungwa Mountains) After breakfast, depart to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Packed lunch on-route. Afternoon proceed to your accommodation in Udzungwa. Day 11: (Udzungwa Mountains) After breakfast, collect packed lunch and hike through the Udzungwa Mountains to the Sanje waterfalls. Picnic on top of the falls. Late afternoon come back to the accommodation for dinner and overnight. Day 12: (Udzungwa/Dar es Salaam = 380 km, 5/6 hours) After breakfast, drive back to Dar es Salaam and transfer to Dar es Salaam International Airport for your connecting or outbound flight. Rates:

SAFARI NOTES 1. Accommodation locations vary from within the parks or outside the parks. 2. Mobile Camping safari – This means that all camping equipment and supplies are provided and carried in the safari vehicle used. A cook is provided who also travels in the vehicle. Camping will take place at public camp site outside the game reserve / parks. Tents provided are walk-in stand-up tents with camping mattresses. We reserve the right to choose other camps than the ones named, depending on local conditions, or to make use of other basic non-camping accommodation at no extra costs if necessary (e.g. in case of bad weather conditions). 3. For flight: Instead of driving from DAR to Selous, it is also possible to fly. For flights, add $190.00 per person one way inclusive of airport transfers. 4. Rates are quoted net per person 5.
