The following itineraries are our Individual Safari Itineraries for Southern Tanzania.
"Individual Safari" means that whether you are just 2 persons
travelling together or a small group, you will always have your own
driver-guide and you will not be grouped with other travellers. For Southern Tanzania we currently only offer individual safaris. It is possible to customise any of the itineraries given below, please contact us for a custom quote! These are our individual safaris in Southern Tanzania: 5 Days Selous - 6 Days Selous - 10 Days Selous, Mikumi, Ruaha, Isimila, Kitonga - 12 Days Selous, Mikumi, Ruaha, Udzungwa Mountains 5 Days Standard Camping Safari - Selous Day 1: Pickup up from Dar es Salaam International Airport and transfer to city center. Overnight at PEACOCK Hotel Day 2: (Dar/Selous) –300 km 5-6 hours After breakfast, Flight from Dar to Selous (Mtemere Airstrip) or drive by car to Selous (5-6 Hours). Lunch at the campsite. Afternoon boat safari on the Rufiji River. At the river you will see crocodiles, hippos and various birds in large roam across the area. Dinner and overnight at Selous River Camp or Selous Wild Camp, which is 6 km from the entrance Gate. Day 3: (Selous) After breakfast collect packed lunches and have a full day game drive in Selous Game Reserve. Picnic lunch at the bush. Late evening drive back to the campsite for dinner and overnight at Selous River Camp or Selous Wild Camp. Day 4: (Selous) After breakfast, enjoy another full day of game viewing and walking safari near Lake Tagalala (if the road is passable). Picnic lunch to be served near the Hot Springs. Late evening drive back to the campsite for dinner and overnight at Selous Wild Camp. Day 5: (Selous/ Dar) After an early breakfast, short game drive in the morning and thendrive to the airstrip and catch the flight to Dar or drive to Dar. Rates: Each of: 2pax 3pax 4pax and above Single Room Supplement US$: 1320 1290 1200 150 per person Inclusive of: Big tents, camping mattresses, camping chairs and tables, 4 X 4 with open roof vehicle, cook and utensils, 3 meals a day, 1 bottle 1.5 l of mineral water per person per day, park fees, camping fees, boat and walking safari as per itinerary and taxes. Day 4: (Selous) After breakfast, enjoy another full day of game viewing and walking safari nears Lake Tagalala (if the road is passable). Picnic lunches to be served near the Hot Springs. Late evening drive back to the campsite for dinner and overnight. Day 5: (Selous) After an early breakfast, break the camp and drive around in Selous National park. Dinner and overnight at the Camp. Day 6: (Selous/Dar) After breakfast, drive back to Dar es Salaam or flight Selous to Dar. Overnight at EXCLUSIVE RESORT or similar hotel for Bed and breakfast Day 2: (Dar/Selous = 300 km, 5/6 hours) After breakfast, drive to Selous. Lunch at the Campsite. Late lunch at Oasis Hotel in Morogoro. Then proceed to Mikumi National Park for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at campsite. Day 6: Full day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park, Bush picnic lunch and late evening drive back to the campsite Day 7: (Mikumi/Ruaha = 352 km, 4/5 hours) After breakfast, collect packed lunches and drive to Ruaha National Park. Picnic lunches served on the way. Evening game drive in Ruaha National Park. Dinner and overnight at the campsite. Day 8: (Ruaha) After breakfast, collect packed lunches and have a full day game viewing in the Ruaha Park, famous for its herds of elephants and Greater Kudus. Late evening drive back to the campsite for dinner and overnight. Day 9: (Ruaha/Isimila/Kitonga = 250 km, 3/4 hours) Early morning game drives in Ruaha Park before breakfast. After breakfast, depart with packed lunches to Isimila Stone Age Site to visit the spectacular pillars formed through ages by erosion. Lunch at the site. Afternoon drive to Kitonga Hotel located at the base the Kitonga Mountain. Late evening traditional dances performed by the Wasagara and Wahehe tribes. Dinner and overnight in Bungalows at Kitonga Hotel or similar hotel. Day 10: (Kitonga/Dar es Salaam = 435 km, 6/7 hours) After breakfast, drive back to Dar with a stop for lunch in Morogoro. Late evening arrival in Dar es Salaam and drop off at the EXCLUSIVE RESORT or similar hotel, bed and breakfast. Day 6: (Mikumi) Full day of game viewing in Mikumi Park with possibility to encounter lions, buffaloes, elephants, etc… Picnic in the bush. Late evening drive back to the campsite for dinner and overnight. Day 7: (Mikumi/Ruaha = 352 km, 4/5 hours) After breakfast, collect packed lunch and drive to Ruaha National Park. Picnic lunch served on the way. Evening game drive in Ruaha Park. Dinner and overnight at the campsite. Day 8: (Ruaha) After breakfast, collect packed lunches and have a full day game viewing in Ruaha Park, famous for its herds of elephants. Late evening drive back to the campsite for dinner and overnight. Day 9: (Ruaha) After breakfast, have a full day game drive in Ruaha National Park. Picnic lunch to be served in the bush. Dinner and overnight at Tungamalenga Campsite. Day 10: (Udzungwa Mountains) After breakfast, collect packed lunch and depart to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Stop for lunch at Kitonga Hotel. Afternoon proceed to Udzungwa Mountain View Campsite for dinner and overnight. Day 11: (Udzungwa Mountains) After breakfast, collect packed lunch and start a short trekking to the Sanje waterfalls. Picnic on top of the falls. Late afternoon come back to the campsite for dinner and overnight. Day 12: (Udzungwa/Dar es Salaam = 380 km, 5/6 hours) After breakfast, drive back to Dar es Salaam. Afternoon short tour of the city. Early dinner at a restaurant before transfer to Dar es Salaam International Airport.
