Price overview Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru


Marangu Route 5 days on the mountain $1,267/person
This is the “Coca Cola” Route. It is the easiest, shortest, and most popular trek on the mountain, and is the only route where you sleep in huts.
Machame Route 6 days on the mountain $1,566/person
The “Whiskey Route” is longer, but more scenic.
Rongai Route 6 days on the mountain $1,566/person
+ $120 group transportation fee
The Rongai Route is one of the easiest routes and has very few people on it.
Umbwe Route 6 days on the mountain $1,566/person
This is a short, more difficult route.
Shira Route 6 days on the mountain $1,566/person
+ $120 group transportation fee
The Shira Route is a short route that joins the Machame Route.
Lemosho Route 8 days on the mountain $1,966/person
+ $120 group transportation fee
This long route parallels the lower part of the Shira Route.

Notes:

  • All prices are per person in U.S. dollars, double or triple occupancy

Discounts (only one applies):

  • For groups 6 or more persons please contact us for a discount
  • $50/person discount during low season: April 1 - June 15, and November

Added Charges:

  • $195/person for an extra night on the mountain
  • $60 single supplement
  • Each Oxygen Cylinder - available for $ 10/ Day / @ group of 4 pax.
  • Hyperbaric pressure bags are $100/group
  • Extra porters (for camera gear, etc.) are $10/day
  • Private hike for small groups of 1-4 persons, if you don't want to hike with further persons, add $100 p.p.

Price includes:

  • National Park gate fees
  • Transport from Moshi to starting point on mountain and return to Moshi
  • Hut / camping fees and tents
  • Certified, experienced, English-speaking guides for all routes
  • Porters’ salaries
  • Rescue fees (required by the national park)
  • All meals on the mountain
  • Two nights accommodation in Moshi bed and breakfast, double or triple occupancy
  • Tents, foam sleeping pads, cooking equipment, and eating utensils
  • Oximeters are available upon request

Not included:

  • Tips for guides and porters
  • Mountain equipment (e.g. sleeping bags)
  • Some equipment is available for rent. See our rental price list.
  • Transfer to and from Kilimanjaro Airport ($20/person one-way)
  • Transfer from Arusha per private car hire $80 one way
  • Lunches and dinners at the Springlands Hotel

Mount Meru 

  • 3-day Trek: $555/person
  • 4-day Trek: $685/person
